You Are My Sunshine | George At Asda Review

Let's talk about new things for a moment.
I love new things - I get a big thrill from opening packaging, I love the smell of fresh ink on a newly printed book, I love the sound of the packages being pushed through the letterbox and the sight (and smells) of freshly sprung flowers in the Spring make me happy inside.  This week I got a brand spanking new camera and decided that, in honour of all things new, to take my Canon SX50 out into the fields with my new brightly coloured jacket from George at Asda to go play.

I've always been a big fan of George at Asda, I think the prices are excellent and the sizing never fails to disappoint.  They offer fast fashion at a low price and when your chunky butt can't fit into Primark clobber this is the next best thing (if not better).  The team offered to send me a few items from their online shop to try out and, like a giddy school girl, I clapped my hands together and let out a little squeal before hitting the net.
Having seen this jacket* online a few times and admiring it, I decided that it needed to make it's may to my house so we I could have sunshine all year round.  I ordered my usual size 24 and it fits like a dream, the arm room is generous and it's so lightweight on it's like wearing feathers.  I adore the colour and I just can't rave enough about it - it's just a pure delight.  Yellow is one of my Nan's favourite colours so I know this will get the nod of approval when I pop round in it too!

I teamed the jacket of dreams with a striped top from Evans and a pair of indigo jeggings* from George also.  I again punted for a my usual size 24 in this jeans but I should have sized down as these are super generous, the elasticated band gives so much more room and I found myself hitching them up a fair bit.  As I'm a tall bird I decided to order the regular length jeans, slash the knee and roll the bottoms up for a little less of a polished look.  I love distressed jeans right now but I just can't bring myself to slash my longer length jeans which cost a million pounds (sorry, but yes - you are penalising us tall fatties, high street brands) to embrace the look.  Luckily, these jeans are a fraction of the price at £14 and look pretty darn good with a slit knee - good old Blue Peter style with a pair of scissors and a tug at at the frays on the edge.

I kept the look really simple with minimal jewellery and a pair of white sneakers.
I'm just in love with everything in these shots - the hair, the outfit, the vibrant yellow flowers...

If you've not shopped at George at Asda before I encourage you to do so - they are my favourite (and I'm not just saying that because they sent me this stuff) supermarket fashion range to shop in and I have many items in my closet from their ranges over the last few years.  The range generally starts at a size 8 and then goes up to a 24, with an additional mini plus size section they're starting to grow.  Shoes go up to a size 9 (yes tall ladies!) and the accessories on offer are pretty sharp to boot.
Don't think about it, hit this link, go forth and shop!
