Style Pick: Top Winter Coats

There comes a point in the cooler months where you just can't get away with cute biker jackets and fluffy cardigans any more when you step outside the front door.  At one point this week I physically turned right back around to grab a coat, squealing a little 'JEYSUS that's cold!'.
Having chubby upper arms and a sizeable bust means that coat shopping isn't the easiest of tasks, and I know a lot of you guys have been throwing tweets out there to ask for some help so here are my top picks!

Black, grey and white are always in this time of year, but the trends that seem to be dominating the high street are coats with a masculine cut or a elegant drape.  You may have seen the blanket capes knocking around, they're simple to wear and can keep you wrapped up warm when you're hitting the shops.  these can be easily picked up form any high street store and because it's designed to be oversized it can easily fit a plus size beauty.  I adore this blue wrap from John Lewis, it's colours are on trend with season favourites and the grid print makes it contemporary.  If you're looking to spend a good amount on a coat (like, say, the cost of your house), get this.

If grid print is your thing, then you can't go wrong with the Look magazine for Simply Be coat.  This coat has been hailed by other bloggers as the 'coat of the moment' and comes from a brand you know you can trust for quality.  Why not check out this long line white biker coat at Simply Be whilst you're on the site?  You can throw on some stone slacks and some oversized shades and pretend you're JLo flaunting it around Central Park with Ralph Fiennes... hubba bubba...

Cosmo loves this coat and I do too - it's just swoon worthy! It's rare that plus size fashion offers us something so on trend as this oversized, masculine cut, swing coat and Evans have come up trumps.  Having seen this on Emma I know this would be a great length on any fat beauty over 5'9 so if you're in that category make sure you take a peek when next in store.

Putting trends aside, you can always find a great anorak style coat on the high street this time of year. If your personal taste tends to lean towards a more flattering fit with something more fitted, then something like an anorak style coat or biker jacket is your cup of tea.
I love this black one from the plus size range at H&M, it's simple, chic and can be worn with practically anything because of it's versatility.  This one is a personal favourite of mine and is definitely the coat I'm eyeing up for the months ahead!
Or keep traditional with this biker style coat from Yours Clothing in charcoal with a black bottom for £49.50 in the sale.

Which coat will you be wearing to keep warm in this season?
