Kimono Club

I was feeling pretty sorry for myself on Friday, we had intended to head down to the sunny beaches of Newquay but unfortunately there were unforeseen circumstances with our accommodation that meant we couldn't go. Boo. So when the sun came out to play and the weather was positively beautiful I was even more ticked off!  My other half suggested we head out for the day to push away my holiday blues and tempted me with the promise of shiny new things from Birmingham to lift my holidays blues.
I hopped over to my wardrobe and took the opportunity to wear some bits I had picked up recently out to the capital of the Midlands.
I recently hit Yours Clothing in my local shopping centre for a browse, having never bought anything before from the brand I was unsure on what sizing and quality would be like.  I'd seen other fabulous bloggers wearing Yours before and raving about it, so I was inclined to wop out my purse and take home some bits for the Summer.  I settled on this black maxi dress and floral printed kimono for my first purchase.

Now, as you can quite clearly see here, this is no way near a maxi dress on me.  I knew there would be an element of it coming up short, with most maxi's hitting my ankles, but this one is more of a midi dress of my 6ft frame!  As it happens, I actually grew to like the length and the simplicity of this dress (though I may get it taken up a little more).  You can pick up this dress for only £15 whilst it's on offer so grab it while you can.
I adore this kimono and it's rarely left my shoulders since I bought it.  Ever since asking my fellow bloggers to induct me into the kimono club I've been procuring new ones every time I hit the shops.  I think what I love about these is that you can literally throw a kimono over anything and it makes an outfit stylish.  These are always big in Summer but I foresee these being absoloutley massive this year! I'm just envisaging this one over some skinnies jeans and heels for warmer nights at the bar with friends... also, did I mention it has pockets?! Hell yes!
I kept this look simple with my mesh insert shoes from Asos (when are these ever off my feet lately?!) and my vintage Dior sunglasses.  I had to also wear some short leggings underneath to avoid the chub rub of walking around Birmingham all day!

Overall, I'm generally impressed with these items from Yours Clothing - they're the same quality as other plus size retailers and at a fraction of the price.  I also love the fact that I can walk into the store and just know every single item on show is available in my size, which is such a rare thing when you're over a size 20 these days!  I spotted quite a few beauties in store when I went so I full expect to be hitting the shop again after my holiday next month!

What do you think of Yours Clothing?
